Build core strength for recovery and rehabilitation

Achieve your health goals with highly effective Pilates exercise programs that are tailored to your individual needs.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, balance, and posture, and to help you become more aware of using muscles correctly. It is named after Joseph Pilates, who developed this form of corrective exercise to promote strength, flexibility and controlled movement.

Pilates emphasises the core muscles, which include the stomach, hips, glutes and lower back. Core strength is essential for stability, balance and healthy movement of the entire body. Pilates also helps your body’s biomechanics to ensure proper movement patterns and minimise your risk of injury in the future. Pilates often uses special apparatus to conduct exercises, such as the pilates reformer machine.

What are the benefits of Pilates?

The core is your centre of gravity, and is central to almost all movements of the body. Core strength is crucial for everyone, of any age, any skill level and any activity level. Pilates helps strengthen the core by promoting proper alignment, and by training these muscles to engage when they are needed.
